Biography

Marilène Englesson was born 1944 and lives with her family in Djursholm and on the island of Blidö in Sweden as well as on Mallorca in Spain. Her father, Folke Hildestrand, noticed early on that Marilène had an intrest for art along with an amazing talent. He supplied Marilène with paint, brushes and a canvas and her interest became more serious as she dove in to the world of art with a drive and a passion.

Marilène and her husband, Staffan Englesson, created Staffan Englesson Furniture and the company was blessed with Marilène's aptitude for form and colour. Her artistic abilities were confirmed even more.

After raising 3 children and supporting Staffan with the furniture company, it was time to put all her efforts into her long lasting passion, her art. The day where Marilène could make her art a fulltime career had arrived.

Marilène has a passion for Naïve Art (art characterized by a childlike simplicity) as seen in most of her paintings. Her inspration comes while she paints in her studio on Blido in the archipelago outside Stockholm or at the family's winter paradise on the island of Mallorca in Spain.

"I love to paint and I have so much fun doing it" Marilène says and is now ready after 25 years to share her art with the world!
